My kids love learning about space and science and so I am super excited about the new PBS Kids show “Ready Jet Go!” that will air next week (2/15/16). While I was in Austin, TX last year for the PBS Annual Meeting I was able to meet Jet Propulsion Laboratory astronomer Dr. Amy Mainzer, who also is the science curriculum consultant for the show. I also got to meet Craig Bartlett, who created the show as well as the PBS KIDS’ hit series DINOSAUR TRAIN.
READY JET GO! takes viewers on a journey into outer space, building on children’s curiosity about science, technology and astronomy. The series follows two neighborhood kids: Sean, who has an all-consuming drive for science facts, and Sydney, who has a passion for science fiction and imagination. They both befriend the new kid on their street, Jet Propulsion, whose family members happen to be aliens from the planet Bortron 7. Together, they explore the solar system and the effects it has on the science of our planet, while learning about friendship and teamwork along the way. READ MORE
To celebrate this great show premiering on PBS, we received an amazing science kit! It included a water rocket, telescope kit, space matching game, and more.
While you are waiting for this amazing and fun new show to air, you can preview several full-length 11-minute stories from READY JET GO! on digital platforms. The videos are available for free on pbskids.org, the PBS KIDS Video App and PBS KIDS Video on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Xbox One and Chromecast.
Be sure to tune into the show starting 2/15/16 and head over to http://pbskids.org/readyjetgo for fun games, videos and activities!

Sounds like a fun show for kids. My son loved watching all kinds of shows like this. Actually at 12 we still like watching Animal Planet and movies/shows on Netflix around real life animals as well.

PBS is great. They do a wonderful job merging learning with entertainment. It’s amazing how inappropriate some cartoons are these days. Nice to see something wholesome.
