Spider-Man: Far From Home

I went to a media screening to preview Spider-Man: Far From Home. All opinions are my own.

Marvel has done such an incredible job over the last 10 years introducing superheroes into our lives and building their stories up. We are so entwined with the MCU that it almost feels like it could be real. My kids have all grown up with it and love it as much as I do.

After watching Avengers: Endgame, I wasn’t quite sure how to process everything. I loved that they picked up about a year after that movie ended.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is…

Spider-Man: Far From Home comes out tomorrow (July 2). Don’t go into the movie assuming or expecting anything. You will be surprised left and right. And stay all the way to the end. It is HUGE.

The CGI is incredible. And the evolution of Peter/Spider-Man through the movie is also a big deal. He is struggling after coming back 5 years later (after the blip) and with everything that happened in Endgame. I really enjoyed the progression and maturity of his character.

Tom Holland once again delivers an outstanding performance as Spider-Man. The chemistry he has with Zendaya (MJ) and Jacob Batalon (Ned) really helps bring even more energy to the film.

Jake Gyllenhaal (Mysterio) works well with Tom Holland. They have a lot of different scenes with different emotions and they both step up to the challenges. I also love that Happy plays a big role in this film. I have missed him in the most recent ones.

Parental Warnings

I will give you fair warning, if you are taking kids there are some innuendos and about a dozen swear words ranging from Da** to Oh My G**. No F words. No nudity (but it does show Peter with his shirt off and MJ trying to look at him).

It is a pretty clean movie. The levels of violence, action, fighting, etc are no different than any other Marvel Movie. If you haven’t seen Spider-Man Homecoming, you need to watch it. There is so much backstory there that just can’t be missed if you are going to watch this movie.

Overall I give it a 5/5. I laughed, cried, was surprised and loved every minute.

Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the next chapter of the Spider-Man: Homecoming series! Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!
