In honor of the movie Norm of the North movie coming out soon, we wanted to make a delicious treat. Because my kids love cupcakes so much, we decided to make Polar Bear Cupcakes. We made rainbow cupcakes (read more about this here) and then we laid out all of the ingredients so the kid could build their own Polar Bear Cupcakes. We got white frosting, shredded coconut, white chocolate covered pretzels, mini Oreo cookies and chocolate chips.
Take the cupcake and frost it with the white frosting, then take the white chocolate covered pretzel and cut it in half and stick each half in to look like ears. Then you will stick 1/2 of a mini Oreo on. Next sprinkle the whole thing with shredded coconut and then add to chocolate chips for the eyes. These are great for parties, birthdays, or just fun days. My kids are so excited to see the movie and making these got them even more excited.
If you haven’t heard about Norm of the North yet, be sure to watch the preview. Norm it is about a polar bear who will “Bear to be different” by by taking on new experiences and embracing life’s adventures. This really goes hand in hand with our family. We are always looking for a new experience or another great adventure to take together. I have always taught my kids that it is okay to be different and to shine as they are. I love that this film reinforces those values and helps kids to understand that different isn’t bad. One of their favorite parts so far is the ” Norm does, so of course they can’t stop watching this video of him dancing:
Norm is the star of Liongate’s latest movie “Norm of the North”. It is a movie about a polar bear named Norm who travels to New York City to try and save his home. Adventures, bravery and learning are all part of this great movie. As my kids grow I see them experience new things in their lives everyday. From when they are born they are constantly learning and growing – trying new things and learning from those experiences. I know they will be able to relate to the theme of this movie and Norm grows and changes as well. Even though it can be hard to try new things or do something that you don’t think you can, it can pay off in the end. Life’s greatest rewards often come from taking changes and moving beyond our comfort zones.
