I was able to watch an early screening in order to bring you this MORBIUS Parents Guide. All opinions are my own.
I have always been a fan of Jared Leto’s work. He is able to adapt himself so well to any role and gives his whole heart in each performance. I also will admit that I knew very little about Morbius (the comic) before going into the movie. I have since done a lot of research to learn more about it and compare what the movie is to what the comics are. I felt like they did a good job incorporating different parts of the story into the movie.
What I loved about the movie were the amazing special effects. Pay attention to the changes in Michael’s (played by Leto) ears, eyes, and other features that can change on demand as he needs them. I felt like the story was easy to follow and made sense. Matt Smith was an incredible villain. I also enjoyed Tyrese Gibson (as I am a fan of the Fast movies) in this. He and Al Madrigal were great together.
What I didn’t love was that I felt like it was predictable. I wish they would have stayed away from the “best friend” angle and created a different villain in the movie. With that being said, they did a great job of putting it all together and it was engaging to watch and I jumped a couple of times because of intense moments.
Go in expecting to be entertained and just sit back and enjoy this origins story. There is so much they can do with Morbius – so let’s give them a chance to do that by being less critical and more open-minded. I hope to see more.

MORBIUS Parents Guide
MORBIUS is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence, some frightening images, and brief strong language
MORBIUS runs for 1 hour and 44 minutes.
There are two mid-credit Morbius end credit scenes.
Sex & Nudity – A couple of different guys are seen with their shirts off at different times. Not in a sexual manner.
Violence & Gore – There is a lot of violence and gore. It is a movie about vampires. It shows people being attacked, their blood sucked, cut open with long sharp fingernails, and a lot of fight scenes. Some teens beat up another teen. A long needle is shown being inserted into a back. Graphic photos of dead bodies.
Profanity – I was surprised that there wasn’t more. I think I counted about 10 or fewer total swears. 1 possible F word – several uses of shit, hell, and a couple of God.
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking – Some alcohol is shown. References to alcohol. A bar scene. Nothing prominent or important to the movie.
Frightening & Intense Scenes – I would say at least 60-70% of the movie has frightening or intense scenes. Like I said – it’s about vampires. The vampire creatures are very creepy looking, and it shows them in detail multiple times. It shows the transformations. It shows them hunting. There is a man having seizure like movements.
Overall I would say 13 older for this one because of the frightening and intense scenes. The way the creatures look and move may frighten or cause nightmares for young children.
MORBIUS comes out in theaters on April 1, 2022
