I was able to attend an early screening in order to bring you this Death on the Nile Parents Guide. All opinions are my own.
Being familiar with the book and watching the trailer I knew there would be some differences. Overall I think they did a great job adapting the story to a movie. I was a little irritated with the “dirty dancing” as I felt that made it way less family-friendly and was an unnecessary addition to the movie. Other than that, it was very well done. I enjoy watching it all play out and come to life. The acting was perfect. I wouldn’t have cast the characters differently.
Overall I think you will really love this adventure with Hercule Poirot as they travel around Egypt and try to solve the mystery of the Death on the Nile!
If you haven’t read the book yet, I just finished the Audible version of Death on the Nile read by none other than Kenneth Branagh and it was fantastic! If you click HERE you can signup for a free trial and listen to the book. You can also check out the other great reads by Christie on there.

Death on the Nile Parents Guide
The movie Death on the Nile is rated PG-13 for violence, some bloody images, and sexual material.
Death on the Nile runs for 2 hours and 7 minutes.
There is no Death on the Nile end credit scenes.
Sex & Nudity – Suggestive dancing between different couples in a club. Two characters talk about sex. Characters are shown standing, making suggestive “positions” (characters fully clothed) but talking about having sex.
Violence & Gore – Shows gunshot wounds, knife wounds, blood, dead bodies, and boulders being pushed off cliffs trying to hit other characters. (kind of the theme of the movie…) Nothing overly graphic or disturbing.
Profanity – 2-3 uses of God and 4-5 uses of damn
Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking – Drinking and smoking are shown throughout. Not really a focal point.
Frightening & Intense Scenes – Several scenes could be frightening to younger viewers when it shows the murdered characters. A few of the scenes are intense.
Overall I would say 13 and older for this one because of the sexuality and the more bloody/murder scenes.
