I was able to screen Argylle in order to write this Argylle Parents Guide. All opinions are my own.

I have to say first and foremost – this is such a great movie! It is packed with action, humor, mystery, and adventure. It is like Mission: Impossible meets Ghosted. It brings to mind other movies I love like RED. If you like any of those, you will enjoy this movie. It has a couple of cheesy parts – but they just add to the fun and glamour of the movie. One of the things I loved most about it, is that just when you think you have it all figured out, they put another twist into the plot and it all changes. Don’t expect to have it figured out!

The cast lineup in the movie is incredible. And I am happy to report that they didn’t let any character’s talents go to waste. Everyone was utilized in a fantastic role that suited them and brought so much to the table. I will admit I was blown away by Sam Rockwell. He is so dynamic in this movie and really captured my heart and that made me enjoy it that much more. Bryce Dallas Howard did a phenomenal job in this kickass role and it was good to see her that way. I am looking forward to hopefully seeing her in more roles like this. Add to that, Henry Cavill, John Cena, Dua Lipa, Bryan Cranston, Sofia Boutella, Ariana DeBose, Catherine O’Hara, and Samuel L. Jackson and you just can’t go wrong.

Go in expecting a comedy action spy movie and you will be able to enjoy the almost two and a half hours as they fly by. The movie is constantly on the move. Don’t expect any downtime. In other words – go to the bathroom beforehand haha. You don’t want to miss anything – it is always moving and is critical to the plot.

Get your tickets now and go see this. I would say you can take your kids 10 and up. There is a little innuendo here and there and one F-bomb (see the parents guide below), but overall pretty clean and SO MUCH FUN! I also love that it makes the female and male equal parts of badass – and it is inspiring for boys and girls alike.

Argylle is Rated PG-13 for strong violence and action and some strong language. It runs for 2hr 19m.

There is one mid-credit scene for Argylle. It is after about 30-45 seconds of credits, so stick around to watch it. When the main credits start rolling, you can head out.

Sex & Nudity – 1/5 – A couple of different scenes where dancing is shown. In the first one, a girl runs her hands down her body. It is short. This is in the first 3 minutes. It also shows a dance move where one person is holding the other up spinning them around – it doesn’t look very appropriate but nothing “sexual” is implied. There is a lot of cleavage from the women in the two gold dresses – one at the beginning and one at the end.

Violence & Gore – 3/5 – A lot of fighting, shooting with guns, knife fights, and other killing/injuring. There are explosions and several other things you would expect from a “spy” movie. There is a cat that is thrown off a building but lands fine. It is also shot at but doesn’t get hurt. It talks about squishing heads with your shoe (using the twist song as an example).

Profanity – 3/5 – Over 25 uses of God (used as GD, OMG, G, etc). Other uses of (5 or less of each) ass, hell, SOB, shit, damn. 1 very bold F-bomb towards the end.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking – 2/5 – A lot of social drinking.

Frightening & Intense Scenes – 1/5 – Nothing was overly intense or frightening. Most of the fighting was laced with comedy and Sam and Bryce did a fantastic job of keeping the storyline interesting and moving. Henry Cavill also plays a huge part in these scenes.

Argylle is one of my new favorite movies in the action/comedy genre. There are just so many layers to it that it makes it fun to watch over and over. PERFECT movie for your date night – or even for Valentine’s!
